The Importance Of Friendship In The Joy Luck Club

The article I chose for the friendship theme is â€Å"The Importance of friendship† by Saul Levine M.D. I chose this article because in The Joy Luck club friendship is one of most important thing they value. Its very evident with the thing they do and say to each other. Some of there oldest close friends have been an important part of their life. In the article they talk about how friends are turning out to be progressively vital to wellbeing as individuals age. â€Å"We are a social species and we need that sense of â€Å"belonging† of feeling deeply appreciated by people we care for. They gather around for dinner and eat. Another tradition is to play to game every week. In this quote from the article it talk s about how you start having friend when your younger: â€Å"Friendships first develop during childhood, when youngsters learn to interact with others. hey learn how to agree and disagree, to exchange meaningful words and gestures, to accommodate to others’ temperaments, and to make friends. These early skills are foundations for later friendships.† The kids of the Joy Luck Club grew up together. which makes them all have a special bond that is family like. They grew up around the same kind of things happening to them. They also learn from each lessons. You know that some of the feelings and experiences you shared with friends during good times and sad, are among your most cherished memories. I chose friendship because in my life friends and family are the most important things to me. I love spending time with my friends and family. The simplest things in life give me the pleasure: cooking food, enjoying my friends. You need a solid foundation of friends and family to keep you where you need to be. To live life without the experience of friendship is an existence without living.
